The Copalero was created to burn the custom incense blend formulated for the exhibition opening. Traditionally used throughout Mesoamerica, copaleros (or incensarios) are vessels for burning copal and other aromatic resins during ceremonies, offerings, and acts of remembrance, with the smoke serving as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds.
